Park Plaza London Riverbank occupies the best of both worlds as a London hotel near the city centre overlooking the fast-paced political and financial heart of the city, with unbeatable river views which lends itself to leisurely long stays. Rich in industrial history yet bordered by culturally diverse residential areas from Kennington and Vauxhall to Westminster and Pimlico, the future looks to exciting developments with regeneration spanning from the South Bank to Nine Elms and Battersea bringing luxurious living and the new home for the US Embassy.

The hotel has been located in an area of significant industrial importance since the 15th Century. With a legacy of glass-making and pottery works, industry accelerated in Victorian times with the draining of the Lambeth marshes to make way for inland docks – White Hart Dock can be seen to the right of the hotel on Albert Embankment, which improved flood defences and allowed transport of goods to London’s docks. Royal Doulton’s pottery production dominated the area with their headquarters on Black Prince Road, before the facility relocated to Staffordshire in the 1950s. The former building has been renovated as the China Works, a new workspace for up-and-coming businesses.

Visitors from the LGBTQIA+ community flock to VoHo village for its gay scene. Culture vultures have plenty to explore with Lambeth Palace, Damien Hirst’s Newport Street Gallery, Gasworks, Beefeater Gin Distillery and Above the Stag theatre close by. Fans of cricket are just a short stroll away from The Oval, whilst families can spend the day in Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens and Vauxhall City Farm.
