Natural History Museum Dinosaur Family Suite at Park Plaza London Riverbank

A family adventure millions of years in the making

Step inside the Natural History Museum Dinosaur Family Suite, an immersive family adventure created in collaboration with the Natural History Museum.

Inspired by dinosaurs, discovery and the mystery of Sir Richard Owen’s lost study, the suite combines storytelling, playful in-room details and premium family comfort for a London visit that families will remember long after check-out.

A long-sealed study has been uncovered at Park Plaza London Riverbank, filled with fossil drawings, scientific notes, specimens and clues connected to Sir Richard Owen, the founder of the Natural History Museum and the man who gave dinosaurs their name. Now, young explorers are invited to continue the story, follow the clues and complete a dinosaur hunt throughout the hotel.

Created in collaboration with the Natural History Museum

Developed with experts at the Natural History Museum, the experience brings together playful imagination and details inspired by natural history and palaeontology.

From the objects waiting to be discovered inside the suite to activities that lead families through the hotel, every element has been designed to spark curiosity, encourage exploration and create time together.

A Family Suite Designed for Exploration

Inside the suite, every detail has been designed to bring the story of Sir Richard Owen’s lost study to life.

Young explorers can uncover drawers filled with natural history details, browse Natural History Museum books and games, listen to Natural History Museum Clever Pocket Tonies and search for hidden clues among specimens, scientific notes and curious objects.

The adventure continues through a hidden door concealed as a regular bookcase, a children’s bedroom inspired by the Cretaceous Period and a children’s bunk bed shaped like a giant T. rex skeleton that brings prehistoric scale and wonder into the heart of the experience.

Designed for families of up to five, the suite features a separate bedroom for adults and a dedicated children’s room for up to three young explorers, with twin beds and a dinosaur-inspired bunk bed.

How the Family Adventure Unfolds...

The adventure begins the moment you arrive. At check-in, young explorers receive a welcome goodie bag and a letter from the Park Plaza Discovery Team, revealing that a long-sealed study has been uncovered within the hotel, seemingly belonging to Sir Richard Owen, founder of the Natural History Museum.

Families must follow the clues to find the secret study, step inside the suite and the adventure continues, as you search the bookshelves for a secret room. You will then continue the adventure across the hotel, meeting helpful team members, searching for seven hidden dinosaur models and completing Sir Richard Owen’s Dinosaur Discovery Trail.

Record your discoveries and return to Reception to claim your Certificate of Palaeontology. The lost study has waited a very long time for its next team of explorers.
