1. Promoter
1.1 The promoter of this competition is Park Plaza Hotels (UK) Services Ltd of County Hall, Riverside Building, 2nd Floor, Belvedere Road, London, SE1 7GP (“Promoter”).
1.2 The competition is being run to celebrate the launch of the Natural History Museum Dinosaur Family Suite at Park Plaza London Riverbank.
1.3 The Natural History Museum is acting as a prize and judging partner for this competition.
1.4 This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram.

2. Eligibility
2.1 The competition is open to UK residents aged 18 or over who are the parent or legal guardian of a child aged between 3 and 12 years at the date of entry.
2.2 Children may not enter directly. Entries must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian.
2.3 Employees of the Promoter, the Natural History Museum, their agencies, immediate families, or anyone professionally connected with the competition may not enter.
2.4 Only one entry per child is permitted.
2.5 No booking is necessary to enter. A booking will not improve the chances of winning.

3. Competition Period
3.1 The competition opens when the competition post goes live on Park Plaza’s Instagram channel on 2 September 2026.
3.2 The competition closes at 23:59 on 21 September 2026.
3.3 Entries received after the closing date will not be accepted.
3.4 The winner will be announced within two weeks of the closing date.
3.5 The Promoter may amend, suspend or cancel the competition if necessary due to circumstances outside its reasonable control.

4. How to Enter
4.1 To enter, a parent or legal guardian must direct message a short video on Instagram showing why their child is the UK’s biggest dinosaur fan. Entries may show dinosaur books, toys, costumes, collections, drawings, models, facts, narration, or other creative dinosaur-themed content.
4.2 The entrant must follow @parkplaza
4.3 The entrant’s Instagram account must be public, or the entry must otherwise be visible to the Promoter, from the time of entry until the winner has been selected.
4.4 The child does not need to appear on camera to enter. Entrants who wish to include footage or images of their child in their entry should do so at their own discretion, and with their child’s privacy in mind.
4.5 Entries must not show a child in an unsafe, distressing, exploitative, humiliating or inappropriate situation. Entrants should have regard to the guidance issued by Ofcom on assessing the risk of online harms to children.
4.6 Entries must not include a child’s full name, school, home address, contact details, date of birth, precise location, medical information, or any other unnecessary personal information.
4.7 Entries must not contain anything offensive, unlawful, unsafe, inappropriate, defamatory, or anything that infringes another person’s rights.
4.8 The parent or legal guardian submitting the entry confirms that they have the right to submit the entry, that any child participation is voluntary and appropriate, and that they have permission from anyone else who appears in the entry.

5. Reposting Entries
5.1 The Promoter may wish to repost or share selected entries on their own social media channels during or after the competition.
5.2 Before reposting or sharing an entry where a child appears or is identifiable, the Promoter will request permission from the parent or legal guardian, for example by Instagram direct message.
5.3 If permission is not given, the entry will still remain eligible for judging, provided it otherwise complies with these Terms & Conditions.
5.4 The Promoter reserves the right not to repost or share entries, even where permission has been granted.

6. Competition Type and Judging
6.1 This is a skill-based judged competition. Chance plays no part in deciding the winner.
6.2 Eligible entries will be judged by a panel including an independent judge from Launch PR, a representative of Park Plaza London Riverbank and a representative or expert from the Natural History Museum.
6.3 Entries will be scored out of 30 points using the following criteria:
• Dinosaur knowledge: up to 10 points
• Passion and enthusiasm: up to 10 points
• Creativity of entry: up to 10 points
6.4 The entry with the highest total score will win.
6.5 If there is a tie, the tied entry with the highest dinosaur knowledge score will win. If there is still a tie, the judging panel will choose the entry that best reflects the spirit of the competition.
6.6 The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into, except where required by law or applicable regulatory guidance. Scores/judging feedback will not be shared with entrants
6.7 only the winner will be contacted.

7. Prize
7.1 There will be one winner.
7.2 The prize package has a total value of up to approximately £2,000 and consists of:

  • A two-night family stay in the Natural History Museum Dinosaur Family Suite at Park Plaza London Riverbank.
  • Accommodation for a maximum family size of five people, comprising up to two adults and three children.
  • A Natural History Museum merchandise bundle worth up to £500.
  • A Sandbox VR experience, suitable for children aged 8 or above.
  • A Tonies box and Natural History Museum Tonies set.
  • Dinner at the hotel up to the value of £250.
  • £100 Dining credit at the Natural History Museum.
  • Travel, transfers, parking, spending money, insurance, additional hotel charges and any other costs not expressly included in the prize are not included and are the responsibility of the winner.
  • Specific dates have been provided for the competition stay:
    • 02.10.26 – 04.10.26
    • 08.01.27 – 10.01.27
    • 22.01.27 – 24. 01.27
    • 19.02.27 – 21.02.27
    • 19.03.27 – 21.03.27

If the winner does not wish to stay on those dates, the winner may request alternative dates, but these will be subject to availability.

7.5 The hotel stay and any prize experiences must be booked in advance and are subject to availability, blackout dates and any relevant booking conditions. Prize must be booked and taken by 31.12.27
7.6 Blackout dates may include school holidays, Christmas, New Year, bank holidays and major London event dates.
7.7 Some prize elements may be subject to age, height, health, accessibility, booking or availability restrictions. The Sandbox VR experience is suitable for children aged 8 or above.
7.8 The prize is non-transferable, non-refundable and no cash alternative is available.
7.9 If any part of the prize becomes unavailable, the Promoter may substitute it with a reasonable alternative of equal or greater value.

8. Winner Notification
8.1 The winner will be contacted by Instagram direct message from the official Park Plaza Instagram account within two weeks of the competition closing.
8.2 The winner must respond within 7 days of being contacted.
8.3 If the winner does not respond within 7 days, is ineligible, cannot accept the prize, or has breached these Terms & Conditions, the Promoter may select another winner using the same judging criteria.
8.4 The winner may be asked to provide reasonable information to confirm eligibility and arrange the prize.

9. Winner Announcement and Publicity
9.1 The winner may be announced on Park Plaza’s Instagram channel and may be included in a press announcement about the competition.
9.2 The Promoter may invite the winning family to take part in publicity relating to the competition, including photography, filming, interviews, social media content, press activity and local or regional media coverage.
9.3 Any publicity involving the child’s name, image, voice, video, interview, personal details or direct participation will require separate written consent from the child’s parent or legal guardian.
9.4 The Promoter will treat the child’s welfare, privacy and safety as a priority in all publicity activity.
9.5 The parent or legal guardian may refuse or withdraw consent for child publicity where appropriate. Refusing publicity consent will not affect the family’s right to receive the prize.
9.6 Where local or regional media activity is proposed, this will also be subject to separate parent or legal guardian consent.

10. Use of Entries
10.1 Entrants retain ownership of their entry.
10.2 By entering, entrants grant the Promoter and the Natural History Museum permission to view, judge and use the entry for the purposes of administering and assessing the competition.
10.3 For entries where a child appears or is identifiable, the Promoter may share or repost entries only where appropriate permission has been obtained from the parent or legal guardian.
10.4 Any wider use of an entry featuring a child, including for press, marketing, advertising or social media content beyond competition administration, will be subject to appropriate parent or legal guardian consent.
10.5 Entrants must not include copyrighted music, images, footage or other third-party materials unless they have the right to use them.

11. Data Protection and Children’s Privacy
11.1 The Promoter will process personal data in accordance with UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

11.4 The Promoter will use personal data only for the purposes of administering the competition, judging entries, contacting the winner, verifying eligibility, arranging the prize, handling queries or complaints, keeping appropriate competition records and, where separate consent is given, managing publicity.
11.5 Personal data processed may include the parent or guardian’s name, Instagram handle, contact details, eligibility information, the competition entry and any personal data included in the entry.
11.6 Entrants should avoid including unnecessary personal data about a child in the public entry. This includes the child’s full name, school, home address, contact details, date of birth, precise location or medical information.
11.7 The child does not need to appear on camera to enter. This is intended to reduce the amount of children’s personal data shared publicly.
11.8 The lawful basis for processing personal data for the administration, judging and fulfilment of the competition is the Promoter’s legitimate interests in running the competition fairly and awarding the prize.
11.9 Where the Promoter requests consent for reposting, publicity or media activity involving a child, that consent will be requested separately and may be withdrawn at any time.
11.10 The Promoter may share limited personal data with the Natural History Museum and relevant prize fulfilment partners where necessary to administer the competition, judge entries, arrange publicity where consent has been given, or fulfil the prize.
11.11 Personal data will not be sold or used for unrelated marketing. Entrants will not be added to marketing databases unless they have separately opted in.
11.12 Competition administration data will be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to administer the competition, award the prize and deal with any queries or complaints. Unless a longer period is required by law, this data will be deleted or anonymised within 6 months after the prize has been fulfilled.
11.13 Publicity materials featuring the winning family or child will only be retained and used in accordance with the separate consent form agreed with the parent or legal guardian.
11.14 Entrants have rights under UK data protection law, including the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of their personal data, object to certain processing, and complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

12. Safeguarding
12.1 The Promoter may reject, remove or disqualify any entry that it considers unsuitable, unsafe, inappropriate, exploitative, harmful, or inconsistent with the welfare of a child. In the event the Promoter chooses to do so, the Promoter shall reserve the right to take any action it believes reasonably necessary to ensure the safety of a child, including notification to the Police or other responsible public authority.
12.2 The competition is intended for parents and guardians. It must not be presented as a direct appeal to children to purchase, book, enter, or persuade adults to purchase, book or enter.
12.3 The Promoter may adapt, limit or cancel any reposting, media or publicity activity where it considers this appropriate for safeguarding, privacy or welfare reasons.

13. Liability
13.1 The Promoter is not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed, incomplete, corrupted, misdirected, not received or unable to be viewed because of technical issues, privacy settings, platform restrictions or any other reason outside its reasonable control.
13.2 Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
13.3 Entrants are responsible for ensuring that their entry complies with Instagram’s terms of use and all applicable laws.

14. General
14.1 The Promoter may verify the eligibility of any entrant and may disqualify any entrant who breaches these Terms & Conditions.
14.2 The Promoter may refuse any entry that is incomplete, inappropriate, fraudulent, tampered with, or likely to bring the Promoter, the Natural History Museum or the competition into disrepute.
14.3 These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
14.4 Any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales.
